My Story

I remember in the early 1990's when I first had the opportunity to use a computer—it felt like magic.

When we purchased our first family computer—an IBM Aptiva—I remember the absolute thrill of making a phone call via the internet.

It was always fun to be able to do various things on the computer—make cards, phone calls, and play games—but it wasn't until high school when I took a QuickBASIC course that I re-discovered that magic feeling. Now, not only could I do stuff on the computer, but I could make the computer do something. I was hooked!

I decided that I wanted to build computer games, and headed off to university, Instead of continuing in tech immediately, I ended up living overseas for a while, where eventually I returned to IT. I then started building and hosting websites and after several years it became my full-time job in 2014.

Since then, I have worked hard to always be learning and improving my skill set, and I have worked accrosss various web technologies at length: JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP, Python, MySQL & MariaDB, MongoDB, NodeJS, Svelte, React, Java, PostrgreSQL, and C#.
